Major Crime detectives track a man's movements throughout the Limestone Coast and Riverland region, including Mildura and Broken Hill, over recent days.
The man appeared in the Berri Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged over the murder of two women at Millicent.
The 53-year-old Millicent man attended the Berri Police Station on Monday morning and reported the deaths.
Just after 10am on Monday, police attended an address in Plunkett Terrace, Millicent and found the two women, aged 63 and 84, deceased in the home.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.
He was refused police bail and will appear in court today.
Major Crime detectives are assisting local police with the investigation.
Police have confirmed that people involved were in a domestic relationship and this was not a random incident.
Police have received information that the murders may have occurred as early as Thursday morning, May 11.
Investigators are still trying to account for the arrested man’s movements between Thursday and the time he presented at Berri Police Station on Monday morning.
It is believed he may travelled through the Limestone Coast area and Riverland region, including Mildura and Broken Hill.
