Police have arrested an Underbool man for driving along the Mallee Highway at speeds of up to 194 kilometres an hour on Wednesday afternoon.
After being arrested at his home, the driver was brought to Mildura Police Station and is now being held in custody.
Police allege the man had been spotted by Police at Ouyen but before he could be interviewed had driven off at speed, heading west along the Mallee Highway.
A radio message was despatched to Underbool Police, who then had the task of trying to intercept him.
It was the Underbool Police officer who then clocked the man driving at a speed of 194 kms.
The vehicle, which is now impounded by Police, was located at the home of the driver in Underbool.
The 37 year old man has been charged with evading police, driving in a manner to endanger life and a numerous other traffic offences.
He was detained at Mildura Watch house after appearing before a Bail Justice.
