As dehydration occurs at the end of a busy harvest, the dried grape industry doesn't often spend time discussing the techniques, costs and efficiencies of the process.
This year we're having a great finish to the season, with some of the best drying conditions ever seen.
While this means less time spent dehydrating, it's a great opportunity for growers to get together and discuss their dehydration systems.
All dried grape growers are invited to attend a block walk next week in Merbein, where we will look at some dehydration systems and share information about what works best. A barbecue will be held after the session.
The date for the session is Wednesday April 18 2018 at 5.30pm at Tony Martin’s property – 229 Main Avenue, Merbein
