A treasured staff member at the Coomealla High School has lost her battle against cancer, passing away in Adelaide on Friday night,
School Principal Steve Harper informed by email staff, parents and students late yesterday of the death of staff member Roslyn Buckley.
Mr Harper said that she had been undergoing treatment for cancer for some time.
“I have spoken with her husband and offered him and their children the heartfelt sympathy of our whole school community as well as any support or help that we are able to give.”
“We have been reassured by the care and concern demonstrated by students, teachers and parents in the support offered at this difficult time.”
He said as a result of her passing a support system which involves psychologists from the Department of Education will be ongoing at a school level and will be in place for some time.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Buckley family during this difficult time,” he said.
The funeral for Roslyn Buckley will be held on Monday April 23 at 1.30pm at the North West Funerals chapel in Mildura.
Her son, Jarrod Buckley is coach of the Merbein Football Club seniors and led his side hours later as Merbein played Ouyen United in the opening round of Sunraysia football on Saturday, A daughter Lauren, plays netball at Merbein Football/Netball Club.
NSW school holidays began yesterday at Coomealla High with students returning to school on May 1.
