The  Halls family of Dareton have posted a $1000 reward for the return of their  dirt racing bike which was stolen from Dareton on Sunday a few hours before it was to be ridden in last weekend's Hattah Desert Rally race  at Colignan.

A local Dareton resident reported to Police that he had heard a motor bike being ridden at speed in a citrus block near Citrus Drive Dareton around 4.30am Sunday.

It’s believed that Police had at one stage spotted the stolen bike but it disappeared.

The stolen bike is  a 2018 Sherco 300, four stroke and carried the race number of 497 and is blue and bright yellow in color with a Mildura Motorcycles sticker kit.

The owner Blake Halls said that even if the stickers had been removed the framework would still have the Sherco factory plastics visible.

Any person who has information about the stolen bike is asked to contact the Dareton Police Station.
