A local basketball team won a bronze medal at the Special Olympics State Carnival held in Melbourne over the weekend. Mildura Basketball for All is made up of players with a disability.
Anna Kerridge represented the team, Basketball for All Inc and the Sunraysia region carrying the torch and lighting the cauldron at the opening ceremony on Saturday. Anna said of the experience “I loved it, it was so much fun”.
The trip was made possible with grants from the Mildura Rural City Council and the WDEA Charitable Trust.
The team consists of Klaeton Smith, Anna Kerridge, Liam Smith, Nick McMinn, Marc Potter, Luke Hudson and Austin Saunders, lead by Coach Evelyn Staker and Assistant Coach/Team Manager Chris Brown.
