Eighteen of Australia’s best sidecar teams competed for the Title Honour of the 2019 Noddy Riordan Paint and Panel Sidecar Spectacular at Olympic Park on Saturday Evening.

The meeting was held late in the season having been postponed following the death of sidecar passenger Dale Cox who passed away after being badly injured in a sidecar crash at Olympic Park in March.

Saturday’s meeting was held as a night to celebrate the memory of Dale Cox and offer support to his family.

The evening began badly for the Waikerie team of brother and sister team Aaron and Teagan Hartwig who were forced to pull out with mechanical problems. The night also had its drama’s when in the first round of heats Byron Gates and Mick O’Loughlin were forced into the wall at the Merbein end of the track. Gate’s was knocked unconscious and was taken to hospital, staying overnight for observation.

Monson and Summerhayes took out the final and the Trophy with Rick Stephens and Nick O’Brien in second place with third going to Darren Howse and Jack Wheeler.
