Workers are into the Mildura Basketball Association Grand Final after holding off Alcheringa in the second semi final of the Men’s Premier League at the Toyota Hothouse on Wednesday night.

At one stage in the second half Workers led by 17 points but a late rally reduced the margin at one stage in the last term to just six points.

Workers coach  Michael Wade said that Curtis Mammone had hit a couple of three pointers  down the stretch for Alcheringa which is what got them back into it, but as I keep saying to our boys, our defence is the key and we knuckled down and got the job done.

“We keep teams under 50-60 points, we win most games,” Wade said.

“Alcheringa and Wildcats next week will be a tough game – it should be a cracker,” he said.

Semi Final results: First semi final; Wildcats 75 defeated demons 51
