Although tiring South Mildura held off a late challenge from Irymple to win the SFNL A Grade netball second semi  final on Saturday.

South coach Emily Wright said that the speed of the game in the first half took its toll late but she felt the game was always in their grasp, especially with a lead of up to 14 goals at one stage of the second term.

Irymple had no real answer to the shooting of Demi Toms and Wright, who shot a couple of gioals from just inside the circle.

Irymple made an early change with Stephanie O;’Loughlin going to goal attack and leaving Sherrie Geister inside but it didn’t really work with South in front at quarter time by 10.

In the second term Geister and O’Loughlin swapped but their shooting was not as aacuurate as Toms and Wright at the other end.

In the third quarter South brought on Sharne Lane into Goal defence as they double tagged O’Loughlin, who was beginning to get the ball under the basket.

A couple of late chances by Irymple were wasted with the final margin six goals in favour of South Mildura.
