The Sunraysia Cricket Association went down narrowly to South West in the opening round of Melbourne Country Week played on Monday.

The South West League batted first to make 9/205 cc from their 50 overs with foiuyr Sunraysia bowlers each picking up two wickets.

Justin Freeman took 2/27, Jason Morrison 2/30, Liam Freeman 2/33 and Sean Mathews 2/43.

In reply Sunraysia ran out of batters to be dismissed 13 runs short of victory with five overs remaining.

Morrison top scored with 38 in the early part of the innings with Bdevn Wade making 34, Campbell Vadlja, who was on loan from Monash Tigers, scored 33, Liam Freeman 27 and Jack Rowett, also 27,
