In Round 14 of Big V basketball Saturday 30-6-18, the Division 1 Lady Heat took on the Warrnambool Mermaids whilst the Division 2 Men's Heat went up against the Wallan Panthers in a thrilling double header in the Hothouse.

The Lady Heat's game against the Warrnambool Mermaids was an absolute cracking game of basketball with the Ladies continuing their winning streak to make it seven on the trot.

The third placed Mermaids were keen for a win, but the Lady Heat were on top of their game and were the winners at the final siren.  The final score was- Lady Heat 107 to a defeated Warrnambool Mermaids 79.

Next week sees the Lady Heat back on the road to take on the Geelong Supercats who are 8th on the Big V ladder.

The Men’s Heat went up against the Wallan Panthers in tonight's game with the 8th placed Panthers no match for the in form Heat Team.   After last week's a nail biting win against the Packaham Warriors, the Heat again played with determination.  The Heat took the win 99 to the Wallan Panthers 77 in a game that delighted the crowd.

The Men's Heat are on the road again next week and will take on the Southern Peninsula Sharks who are currently 5th on the Division 2 Big V ladder.

Play returns to the Hothouse on July 14th for Round 16 of Big V.  The Ladies Heat will take on the Warrandyte Venom whilst the Men's Team will clash with the Sherbrooke Suns.

Tip off for the double header is 6pm for the Ladies with the Men's game to start at 8pm.  1611AM Old Gold Radio will be there broadcasting the action live from the Hothouse.  Tune in online or on the radio dial.
