Mildura junior sidecar competitor Harry Hearne teamed up with South Australian Nate Headland to win the O’Brien Cup at Gillman Speedway on Sunday night.

The pair defeated the Bendigo combo of Connor Curran and Brodie Kerss with third place going to Sunraysia pair Justin Southgate and Terrance Lanigan, the Australian junior side car champions.
Nate Headland is the son of Trent Headland, who won the Senior sidecar Australian championship on the same night with Mildura passenger Daz Whetstone.
Young Nate Headland is also the grandson of Glen O’Brien, star sidecar rider after which the Cup is named.
