Mildura’s Heat men’s basketball team has jumped to fourth spot on the Division Two Big V Basketball ladder after winning both games on the road at the weekend.
On Sunday the Heat backed up from a Saturday night win by four to beat the Camberwell Dragons by five 68 to 63.
Dallas Brown was again in fine shooting form with 20 points, Calvin Henry, who was forces to spend time off the court after getting four fouls, shot 17 with just seven rebounds.
Alex Newstead contributed a valuable 10 points in a relatively low scoring game.
The Heat are now fourth after winning six of their 10 games and sit on the ladder behind Pakenham Warriors, Wallan Panthers and Collingwood Allstars, three of the teams which have defeated the Mildura side so far this season.
On Saturday night against the Southern Peninsula Sharks the Heat were down by six points at half time tbefore they recovered to beat the home side 82 to 78.
Calvin Henry shot 24 points with 13 rebounds while Cam Kelly came off the bench to shoot 21 points, including four three pointers.
The Heat will take on the Sherbrooke Suns this Saturday night at 8pm at the Toyota Hothouse in 8th Street, Mildura. The match will be broadcast over `1611AM Old Gold Sport.
