Former Lady Heat player Jasmine Simmons has signed to play her future basketball in America next year.

Simmons, who grew up in Sunraysia and played for the heat when she was 14 years of age, has verbally agreed to play for the Oregon State University in the USA to pursue her dreams of college basketball for 2018.

“I’ve got to thank mum and dad for giving me the opportunity to do what I love even if that means you are halfway around the globe,” Ms Simmons said.

“I also have to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey so far and thank you to the Oregon State University  coaching staff for giving me the chance to join their awesome program.”

“I  can't wait to put on the orange and black colors next year,” Simmons said.

Under 17 Sapphires 23 player squad leading up to the 2016 Oceana and World championships.

Less less than 12 months from when she left Sunraysia to attend the Basketball Academy Simmons became  an Under 17 Sapphires 23 team member and then represdented Australia in the  2016 Oceana and World championships, which Australia won.

After departing from Sunrayasia Simmons soon made it to the NSW Western Reds combination as a representative of  the Orange and District Basketball Association..
