Mildura’s Lady Heat will not have the services of top youngster Jasmine Simmons for the finals match against the Camberwell Dragons in the elimination final of Big V Division One women’s game on Saturday night.
Big V officialdom rejected a submission to allow Simmons to play in the finals as she had not fulfilled the requirement of playing in six matches during the season.
Simmons played the last three matches of the season after gaining a clearance from her previous club.
The Lady Heat argued that she had not played before the last three games because she had been out injured.
The submission from the Lady Heat had contained medical documents in support of the injuries which had restricted her training and from not being fit to play, but they were overlooked and permission for her to play finals was not granted.
The women’s match will tip off at 6pm and be broadcast on 1611AM Old Gold.
The Men’s heat team which lost last Saturday to the Wallan team will play the Pakenham Warriors at 8pm Saturday night in the Division Two elimination final.
Coach Russell Knights believes the Heat can turn around last Saturday’s narrow loss with a good win in this week’s game again on home soil.
