In the men’s semi finals of the Mildura Grand International top seed Marc Polmans (Vic) overcame seventh seed Luke Saville (SA) in the rematch of last week’s Renmark Paringa Council Men’s Tennis International final.
Polmans won over Saville 7-6(2) 6-1, while Thomas Fancutt (Qld), whose Mildura form has been very good this week, made his way to the final defeating fourth seed Dayne Kelly (Vic) 7-6(3) 6-4.
Two days of heat tested Gabriella Taylor of England but she overcame fellow Brit Katy Dunne which means the number one and two seeds play each other in the final this afternoon at midday.
Number one seed Polmans will now play the unseeded Fancutt for the men’s title following the women’s clash.
Today’s order of play has the women’s singles final commencing at 12.00 noon, with the men’s singles final to follow not before 1.00 pm.
