Irymple Football Netball Club are amongst twenty five groups who shared in $2.2 million of funding from the latest round of the Country Football and Netball Program.
Member for Northern Victoria, Mark Gepp MP announced the funding and said “this boost will go a long way to helping the mighty Swallows cater for the growing numbers of people keen to get involved in grassroots sport, providing more opportunities for locals to get active and play the sport they love.”
$100,000 of funding will be provided to Mildura Rural City Council to enable Irymple Football Netball Club to better accommodate its training and competition requirements across its multiple teams and 150 netballers.
The Country Football and Netball Program is a partnership with the AFL, AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria to help football and netball clubs across the state to meet growing demand and welcome even more members.
The funding will allow the construction of two netball courts at the Henshilwood Recreation Reserve
The Country Football and Netball Program began in 2005, and since that time, the program has delivered more than $26.5 million to over 470 projects across rural Victoria.
