Mildura South Primary School will be losing its long serving principal Debbie Chandler at the end of the 2017 school year.
Mrs Chandler has told school authorities that after 25 years at Mildura South, the last 10 as Principal, she will be retiring on January 28 next year.
Her position will be advertised in October this year.
There are currently six former students whom she taught at year six level, now back at the school in teaching roles.
In 2014 the enrolment at Mildura South primary school reached its all time peak at 650 pupils while because of transient families, the figure fluctuates. The 2017 enrolment has been steady at around 600 pupils.
Mrs Chandler said that travelling was going to be a big part of her retirement plans. Her husband Greg Chandler, is a retired policemen.
