The Cardross Spring Show, Outdoor Market and Scarecrow Spectacular is an event sure to please both young and old this weekend.
The popular one day traditional country show will be held on Saturday in the Cardross Public hall, located right in the heart of Cardross.
The Hall will be filled o with many hundreds of entries in over 280 classes and will be open to the public from 10.30am after judging is completed.
In true country show style there are sections catering for all types of roses, irises, perennials, annuals, bulbs in bloom, trees and shrubs, pot plants, cacti and succulents with special sections for children.
For the home gardener, there are classes for flowers, fruit, nuts, vegetables and citrus. Several sections are dedicated to cooking and food preserving for both young and old to enter.
Other categories include photography and extensive arts and crafts categories to enter with children sections for both primary and secondary school ages as well as the over 65’s Senior section.
Refreshments and light food will be available at the Outdoor Market on the grassed area surrounding the peppercorn tree with ample seating and a variety of continuous free entertainment from 9.30am.
Judging of the unique Cardross Scarecrow Spectacular will take place on Thursday, October 12 with many scarecrows on view from the 12th until the 22nd of October.
Entries have been invited from the public in sections for traditional and whimsical scarecrows along with a third section open to schools, kindergartens and registered child care centres.
Scarecrow judging takes place this Thursday and sponsored by Red Cliffs Club, Richardson Bros Grader Hire and TASCO.
All other entries close this Wednesday. Free detailed schedules from Red Cliffs Foodworks,Levers, Post Office and several other locations including Plantarium in Mildura and district libraries.
