After a decade of breakfast announcing at Mildura’s commercial AM broadcasting station River, Ted Guinea has turned off the microphone for the last time.

A captain at the Mildura Army Reserve, Mr Guinea recently resigned from his radio job to take up a role as a permanent member in the infantry operation of Army Defence.

Guinea came to Mildura from as dual role at Radio 2MG and Real FM at Mudgee in New South Wales.

He got a taste of radio through Cool FM up on the Tweed coast at Murwillumbah before getting the job at Mudgee.

“I came to Sunraysia originally when I was a child when my parents came grape picking at Red Cliffs.”

“I’ve enjoyed my time here where I have been doing breakfast and had the position of program director.”

In addition to his radio work Ted Guinea became President of the Sunraysia Rugby League from 2012.

His position as program director will be taken by Anthony Milich, who has been doing afternoons.

The new voice at breakfast will be Wendy Hold, who is coming to Mildura from Radio 2TM at Tamworth.
