Members of the Mildura Historical Society are undertaking research into the district’s former private Hospitals, of which there were several.

Just recently the Society located the sign for the Windulva private Hospital.

The sign for the Windulva Private Hospital has been polished up and local rock and blues radio Broadcaster (and local musician) Terry Iredale happened to be in at the Society the morning the sign came back for display.

Mr Iredale was one of many locals who was born at Windulva.

And to complete an historical link Mr Iredale was pictured with the newly polished sign, in front of photographs of his Great Grandfather Dr O. L. M. Abramowski and his first wife Martha Abramowski.

Their time in Mildura is honoured by the naming of their street Abromowski Court,  which runs of McKendrick Avenue, near 14th Street.

The Windulva Private Hospital was located in 12th Street, Mildura, on the site now occupied by the W J Christie Centre (opposite the Mildura Swimming Pool)
