Three exhibitors from the 2017 Mildura Show have been selected at Regional level to represent the district at this year’s Royal Melbourne show to be held this September.

Those selected had been winners at the Northern District Agricultural Shows Regional final held last weekend at the Rich River Golf Club, Moama. 

Exhibitors who won certain sections at the 2017 Mildura Show were able to compete in these finals.

There were two Sections with multiple classes for the winners to enter.

One section was for VAS Ltd. (Victorian Agricultural Shows Ltd) and the other a Group section for NDAS (Northern District Agricultural Shows).

Mildura Show Society President Ken Graf said that in the VAS Ltd Competitions Mildura had winners in Open - Rich Fruit Cake section (won by Peter Lloyd-Johnes)  and in Junior section of Boiled Fruit Cake  which was won by nine  year old Jasmine Ash from Irymple.

These two exhibitors now have to make new cakes for the Royal Melbourne Show 2018. The third winner was in the Photography section where a photo of “Sunrise/Sunset” by Aaron Hawkins Mildura had got the judges nod at Mildura.

 This photo will be forwarded to the Royal Melbourne Show 2018 where it will become an entry.

Other VAS LTD placegetters were: Crochet article 2nd Paulette Giles Irymple.  Junior Photography – Spider Web and 2nd  Jasmine Ash Irymple

In the NDAS Competitions: Crochet Article (any other Yarn) 2nd place went to Jeanie Friday, One Article of Craft or Hobby (Men Only) saw Gordon Woithe  placed second for a wooden cake stand.

In the Junior Chocolate cake section  3rd placeplace went to Anthony De Maria, while in the Junior Cushion competition Jade Cramp had a first and in  Junior Photography – ‘Featuring Water’ by  Angus Bobstchinski was also placed third.
